Waiting for little Kara | Venus Texas Maternity Photographer

Oh my goodness!  I am thrilled to share the Rhodes family with you today.  This family is so precious and we had such a blast with their maternity session.  These little twins are going to make the best big brother and big sister to their new little baby sister Kara.  In fact little Kara was born last Thursday October 17, 2014 weighing 6lbs and 3 oz.  Mom and little Kara are doing great and I can not wait to photograph this little one next week.

Faira (the mom of little Kara, Sara and Drew) and I go way way back.  You see Faira went to church with our family when my kiddos were little bitty.  My daughter was about 8 months old and my son was just about 4 and Faira's mom Linda worked in our church nursery and well they loved on my kiddos.  Faira would meet me at the door and whisk my Sarah off :)  Faira was about 10 and apart of the G.A (girls in action) class that I taught.  We had so much fun and I simply adore her precious family.  So, it was extra special to meet her awesome husband Andrew and their two little kiddos Sara and Drew.   Such a neat family!

For their family maternity session we headed out to a park in Mansfield and what a wonderful fall morning we had.  The sunshine was beautiful and awww we had a nice cool breeze.  Not to mention the beautiful and amazing colors that we get to enjoy this time of year.  All make for a great session.

Here are a few of our favorites...

Thank you Rhodes family for allowing me to capture this most amazing time for your family.  I can't wait to meet little Kara next week.

Meet Lily {North Texas Newborn Photographer}

Today I am thrilled to share with you little Ms. Lily.  She is the cutest little thing!!   Lily's session was all about capturing her right now at six months old.  She is able to sit up, stand while holding on to something and was just learning to pull her self up.

I just love her little personality and we had a blast playing with her and of course dressing her up for her session.  Her momma had a ton of amazing idea's and cute little outfits, so mixed together with my props and outfits too, we had a wonderfully creative session, with beautiful outdoor lighting.

Here are just a few of my favorites...

and of course, I can't help but share this last photo, when Lily said I am done with this photo shoot thing. lol!  Such a cutie pie!

Thank you Tucker Family for allowing me to be apart of capturing Lily's six month portraits.  I hope that you enjoy them for years and years to come.  Lot's of fun memories!

Amie + Brad's Urban Engagment Session {North Texas Photographer}

Awww.... this Urban Engagement session was absolutely gorgeous and so much fun.  This couple is very near and dear to my heart; as Brad is our Son and Amie is our wonderful daughter in law.  It is so evident to all that know them that God has brought them together to become one.  It is amazing to see God working in the lives of your children and to see the pure joy of all that God provides.

When we were planning out their upcoming engagement session, we decided on Deep Ellum in Dallas, Texas.   Amie & Brad are both musicians and are both very creative & artistic, so it simply seemed to be the best place to capture the love of this couple.

All the props in the session are one's they have made together in their shop {The Royal Junk Co.} You see they love to find old furniture and discarded pieces and give them new life and resale them.  They did an outstanding job on putting together these props.  I told them I needed to hire them as my prop designers.  I am sure we will be collaborating often lol.

If you are interested you can check out their store here and be sure and tell them Specialty Photography sent you to their page.  Leave them some love people.

The wedding is all in motion and will be here before we know it.  March 1, 2014 is the amazing day.  The dress is in alterations, the wedding planner is in place, the photographer is hired and things are all coming together perfectly.  We will be doing Amie's Bridal Session before too long, but I will not be able to post or share those until after the big day.

Here are several highlights from their session...

Thank you Amie & Brad for allowing us to be apart of capturing your love.  We had a blast and love you both so very much.  Praying for God's continue guidance in your lives and for your family as you become one.  We hope that you treasure the memories of this time and your photos for years and years to come.

Sarah - Class of 2014 {North Texas Senior Photographer}

Hi SP Friends...

Boy has it been a while since I posted a blog.  Time flies when you are busy, busy, busy.  I can't believe I went all of October without a single blog post.  Boo!!  Anyways, I hope to be doing much better as I round out 2013 and start up 2014 with sharing on the blog.  Can you believe we are nearing the end of 2013?!  Already!!  Where did this year go?  I swear the older that I get, the faster that time trucks along. lol!

Today I am excited to share my daughter's Senior Photo Shoot.  She will be graduating from Howard Payne University in May 2014 with her Early Childhood Education Degree.  We are all super proud of her and all of her hard work and look forward to watching her on her new journey as a school teacher next year.   Since her momma is a photographer we have had a fun time planning her photo shoot and let me tell you we had a day planned.  In fact, we had so much fun we finally just got wiped out from all of awesome fun ideas lol!  But, I must say we have some beautiful images to cherish for a lifetime and for that I am very thankful.  We will be doing a couple of more photo shoots before May so we can capture some fun places that she likes to hang out around school, capture her school campus and of course get those cap & gown photos.  So stay tuned my friends and follow our celebration along the way.

This photo shoot was taken in our neck of the woods, where Sarah grew up, in the good ole' country with beautiful sunlight.  Enjoy!  Here are a few of my favorites.   WARNING!  there may be a BUNCH of photos, that's the beauty of being the photographer lol.

Jennifer | Class of 2014 | Venus, Texas Senior Photographer

Hi SP Friends...

I am super excited to share Jennifer with all of you today.  Jennifer is one of our 2014 SP Street Team members {aka SP Senior Model}; so you will be seeing quite a bit of her in our Senior Marketing.  Jennifer attends Venus High School {yea for a hometown girl} and is actively involved in Community Service, Church and eager to make a difference in the world she lives in.  I love her zest for life and have truly enjoyed learning about her dreams and goals following high school.  She is one determined young lady who is going to do great things.  She currently has served over 500 hours in community service!  Can you say WOWWW!  That is so awesome :)

Jennifer is the president of a community service organization at Venus High School called Key Club and she just recently got inducted as the Lieutenant Governor of the organization; which means she not only serves here in her own community, but she also works with 10 other clubs at local area high schools.  I know she is going to do a fantastic job continuing to serve the community during her senior year.

We started Jennifer's Photo Shoot here at the studio and then we headed up to Venus for the rest of her session.  She wanted to incorporate her school, her community, and her style into her session.  I think she did a fabulous job with selecting her outfits for her shoot, to capture her just as she is today and all that is important to her.

Here are a few of our favorites...

Fun Facts...

High School:  Venus High School

Favorite Song:  Lightning by Alex Goot

Favorite Color:  Blue

What 3 words describe you:  Confident, Knowledgeable, Kind

Hobbies/Spare Time/ Passions:  Community Service, Read,  Hang out with friends, play chess with my Dad, Crochet, and prepare for college (scholarships, SAT/ACT prep)

What are your plans after high school:  Attend Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts to major in Math and have a double minor in Biology & Spanish.  From there I want to attend MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) for a Masters Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering.

Congratulations Jennifer!  I wish you all the best during your Senior Year as you prepare to pursue your dreams :)  Enjoy the fun, make a ton of memories and laugh a lot!
