Valentine sessions for Children | Venus Texas Children Photographer

Something new this year are our Quick Take sessions (basically these are micro  mini's)  Some of them throughout the year will be good for families and some for Children.  We will always let you know who they are designed for and what is available for booking.  

Our first Quick Take of 2022 is Valentines and this one is focused on Children.   If they can sit up, they will do well with these two sets.  So age range is sitting up to about 11 years of age.  We have two fun valentine set designs for this session.  Your children will be photographed on both sets and you will have a variety of fun portraits to pick from in your gallery.  These are absolutely perfect to have to share with family, friends and of course to have for upcoming Valentine parties at school.

You can even get a free set of photo stickers with your package, if you sign up now!

Our Valentine "Quick Take" session is coming up on Saturday February 5, 2022 at the studio.  This is a one day event and will be so much fun!   Perfect to have wallet valentine cards for class parties and even photo stickers for treat bags!

Safety Steps at the Studio | Venus Texas Newborn Photographer

Yes we are OPEN for business and already doing sessions.  I will be starting Mini Sessions & Couture Kids in June.   With the pandemic and all the concern for the safety and well being of our clients, I wanted you guys to know that we are taking every precaution possible.  

As you know Specialty Photography is a boutique style studio and I am the only photographer for the majority of our sessions.  I do have a second shooter when needed for preschools, sports, etc.  But, the majority of the time it is just me and my assistant that will be working with each family.  On a normal day I only have ONE family in the studio at a time.   I have always cleaned between sessions and at the beginning and end of every day.  I am making sure that we continue to do that.  I also have always only used props, blankets, wraps, etc  for one client per day.   I have a ton of wraps, and outfits for our toddlers and babies.  Therefore, nothing is re used EVER one client right after another.

 Now Mini Sessions and Couture Kids work a little differently.  These sessions you know are still private session times, but they are closer together.  So, for now, what we will do is to space the sessions out just a little bit, to allow me to clean the props (like a chair, bench, etc.) and the set prior to the next family coming in.  Temporarily we will ask that when you arrive that you wait outside on our bench by the studio door, or wait in your car until it is your session time.   I will make sure your paper work (forms to be filled out) are available to you as you are waiting, that way your session time, is your actual session time.

Remember, just like always that if you are sick or your child is sick, it is always better and safer to reschedule those appointments.  The portraits will always be better anyways when everyone is feeling their best.  None of us feel like being photographed when we are sick :(

I have these graphics to share some of the steps we are taking here at the studio.  Just a quick reminder to share,  that I am doing all that I can to make your experience here at the studio a fantastic one.  I love what I do, love the studio and creating amazing keepsakes for your guys.

Mask and gloves will be available, if you want to wear them.  They are not required to enter or to be at the studio.  I will be wearing a mask and my assistant will be also, during Newborn Sessions, as we are usually very close to the little one.  But, when working with toddler, I may remove it, as it tends to scare them and I am also able to be farther away from them while doing the photos.

Santa Claus came to visit | Venus Texas Newborn Photographer

We had the best time when SANTA came to visit the studio.  We had a small group come by to visit, but we sure had a blast and made some awesome memories for two special little ones.

Our set design this year was Santa's Cocoa Shop and man did it turn out adorable!

Don't you just love it?!!

Before the kiddo's arrived Santa was getting all settled in and checking out his set up for the day...

He had to make sure everything was just right :)

My assistant Anna (and mom) had to get a photo in the set too...

Truly am grateful for all her help here at the studio!! She is an awesome assistant!!

Before the children got to see Santa we took a few minutes to capture some fun Christmas photos for mom and dad.  They are so cute!  Then we had them ring the bell and SANTA came out to visit each one.

 Isn't he just adorable?!  I love his big smile and he really enjoyed Santa Claus!!

 Oh my!  I just love Kinley and her big eyes and oh that outfit!! So cute!!

 Kinley was super happy and having a good ole' time having her photos made, but when SANTA entered the scene, she was not too happy lol.  She was trying to make a quick getaway!  Such an awesome memory of her first visit with SANTA.

All better now that the guy in red is gone lol :)  Oh!  and Kinley loved the marsh mellows too :)

Thank you both for bringing your little ones to visit SANTA and for allowing us to capture memories of their first Christmas!  Such a huge honor!!

Turning ONE is so much fun | Venus Texas Children Photographer

Oh yes it is!!  Turning ONE is such a fun celebration!  Your adorable little one has learned so very much during this first year of life and why not capture this awesome milestone with their very own Cake Smash Session here at Specialty Photography!

Kinley sure had a blast and so did mommy & daddy!  Kinley's mommy had the most adorable little outfit already that Kinley wore at her big birthday party and we designed her entire set to match right down to the colors on the cake.  So so cute!

 Oh Boy!  The joy on her face when she got to dive into her cake!  I just love our Keepsake boards also.  It's an awesome addition to any Cake Smash Session and best of all YOU get to take it home with you.  It's a 20x30 board filled with all kinds of fun info about your big ONE year old.

Love this adorable little storyboard too!  It's another awesome keepsake that we can design for you!    Such fun moments!

I am so glad that Kinley had a blast at her celebration!  Thank you to her sweet mommy & daddy for allowing us to capture her ONE year Milestone!

HO! HO! HO! Santa is coming to town | Venus Texas Children Photographer

Have you heard who is coming to town?!!  Why it is SANTA of course!!  SANTA is scheduled to visit Specialty Photography on Sunday December 7, 2014 for our next Limited Edition session.  He shared with me that he is super excited to see all the little boys and girls again and can't wait to share hugs, have some hot cocoa and hear all about their little wishes.

While your little one is here for a visit having a great time with Santa Claus I will be capturing the excitement in their eyes as they interact with Jolly Ole' St. Nick.  Priceless photos and memories for sure.

This year's SANTA set is sure to delight everyone.  I am super duper excited to share that we will have an adorable wooden Cocoa Shop {my hubby is building} for our SANTA set this year.  Santa will be able to move around in our set and interact with the kiddos a little more in a fun relaxed setting.  {Something different than just sitting upon his knee; although that is precious, we wanted something a little different this year}  All the kiddo's will have a chance to make their own Hot Cocoa with Santa complete with all the fixins' {sprinkles, marshmallows, candy canes, whip cream, etc.}

Boo @ the Barn | Venus Texas Photographer | Halloween Photos

It's time for our 6th Annual "Boo @ the Barn" event.  This is always such a fun night and best of all it is a FREE event.  It's just our way of reaching out to the community and saying thank you for supporting our small business.

Each year we design a new set for our "Boo @ the Barn" and well it's time for me to share this year's design with you...

This is our 2014 "Boo @ the Barn" set design!!  

Love it and all of our little trick or treater's are going to look adorable.  Can't wait to see everyone!

You may or may not be familiar with our "Boo  @ the Barn" event so here is all the info...

Date:  October 31,  2014

Time:  4 - 8pm (it is first come/first serve)

Place:  Specialty Photography Studio
165 N. Armstrong Rd.
Venus, Texas 76084

What takes place?  We photograph all the children who come dressed in their Halloween costume.  We watermark all images and share them via face book - so that you can have a copy of the image.  We have treats for the children and coupons to the studio for mom's and dad's.  It is all come and go and it is a super fun night.

This event is FREE however; we are doing a little giving back with this event.  We will be collecting new Teddy Bear's for the Venus Fire Department and if we get too many the overflow goes to Cook Children's Hospital.  The Teddy Bears actually provide comfort for children that are injured or sick and are in need of care.  It simply is a snuggle friend that a paramedic can give a child when they are scared and not sure about what all is going on.  My daughter who is now 22 years old now, had a seizure at age 6 and she ended up taking a ride to Children's in an ambulance and was quite scared, as you can imagine.  The paramedics gave her this adorable little white teddy bear with red hearts all over it during her ride.  She clung to that little bear and it brought a smile to her face and thrilled this momma at a time when we were all very scared.  Thank goodness she simply had a reaction to some medication and she never had another other issues with seizures.   So, I love being able to give back and I know that these little bears will go to loving homes and will provide a smile and comfort at an urgent moment.

How to donate?  If you want to donate a Teddy Bear simply bring one with you for each child that will be photographed.  We will the provide you with a high resolution digital image of your child's "Boo @ the Barn" photo.  {$40 value}  You will get the print rights to the image and can reprint it as many times as you want to share with friends and family and you can print any size that you want and at any lab of your choice.

It's super easy to attend,  just bring your little one dressed in their costume, bring a stuffed Teddy Bear and you will get a social media image, a digital image, treats and a coupon to the studio.  
**Galleries will be posted about 3 - 4 days following the event.

Pumpkin Patch time at Specialty Photography {North Texas Children Photographer}

Oh how I LOVE Fall :)  It is my favorite time of year and I am super excited that we are going to get cooler temperatures this coming weekend.  All though... we do live in Texas so you truly never know lol.  I do indeed love the cooler weather, but most of all I love the colors of the season, the changing of leaves, the beautiful sunlight and the fact that many Holidays are on there way.

Daddy & Me {North Texas Children Photographer}

Happy Friday Friends!!  I am so happy to share with you a few highlights from a recent Daddy & Me session with the Cato Family.  The Cato family has have into the studio before for our Daddy & Me sessions (the first one little K was around 3 months old)  It is so neat to see the bond between these two and to see how she has grown.  I have truly enjoyed getting to know them over the  years and look forward to continuing to capture their sweet family.

Here are few of our favorite highlights...

The storybook in the bottom right photo is one that has a recoding of Mom reading their special story book.   Love adding special touches from a family into photo sessions.  Priceless!
