Wildflower Mini Sessions are for the whole family and are happening at the studio.   Everything is turning GREEN and the wildflowers will be blooming!  So grab your family, head outside and let's capture some amazing family portraits.  These sessions will all take place in the field at the studio :)  I love the beauty of each and every season that we get here at the studio.

This session is perfect for the whole family or will make great Easter/Spring photos. 

When you book your session you will pay $50 and that goes towards your package, and will secure your time slot for the day.  This is non refundable, but can be transferred to another session, if someone in your family is sick or you have a family emergency.

Once you have booked your session, I will contact you to secure your time slot for Saturday March 25, 2023.   You will then receive our Mini session guide through email, along with our questionnaire and contacts, model release forms.  All this helps you prepare for your session and saves time once you arrive here at the studio.

Everyone starts with an initial package; Package 1, 2 or 3, You will select your package at booking.    Each session is designed for the immediate family only, if you want to schedule with cousins or friends; you will need to book two session and then I will schedule you back to back time slots.

Additional prints and products are available for purchase in your private online gallery.  Ala' Carte pricing starts at $22 and additional packages start at $69.95.  Digitals start at $50.  You will get a full price guide in your Mini Session Guide.

Meet the Gaither Family | Venus Texas Family Photographer

Oh what a fun, creative and totally unique family photo session we had with the Gaither Family.  I have know Mikol for quite a while; as he is a long time friend of our son Brad.  I was so excited to meet his precious wife Natalie and his little girl Madeline.   I love that they were all about us capturing them just hanging out and having fun at the park and what a perfect winter morning we had for their family session.  Could not have been a better day!

Meet the Southall Family | Venus Texas Family Photographer

Thrilled to be able to introduce you all to the Southall Family.   I love all my awesome clients and friends, but the Southall family has a special place in my heart.  Billy has been a close friend of our son Brad for years (in fact he is pretty much family!) They grew up together and we had the honor of teaching Billy in our church youth group a few years ago.  We have loved getting to know Alex and see them become a family.  We have had the joy of being apart of their wedding day and seeing them add to their family when little Will was born.  It is absolutely a joy to watch a family come together and what an honor I had to be the first one to capture their very first family photos.

This time of year the colors are awesome and the leaves are falling, so we planned out the session to take place in a local park and then to head over to an old train trellis.  Both of these places made the perfect backdrop to capture their sweet family and to showcase their love of each other and music.

Billy loves his music and is a talented musician and plays both the guitar and banjo, so we definitely wanted to include that into the session.  It is so perfect when families bring along items that are important to them and showcase their talents and gifts.

Boo @ the Barn 2014 | Venus Texas Family Photographer

WhoooHooo!  I am so excited to share all of these little Trick or Treaters that came by to visit us on Halloween night!  It's always so much fun meeting families and playing with the kiddos :)

We had a small group come by this year; but we still collected lot's of awesome stuffed animals for the Venus Fire Department!  Which is awesome because some small children will have a new friend to hug and love at a scary time.

Thank you all for coming by and supporting this awesome cause!  Enjoy all of our little spooks!!

is coming to SP on Sunday December 7, 2014

This year's SANTA set is sure to delight everyone.  I am super duper excited to share that we will have an adorable wooden Cocoa Shop {my hubby is building} for our SANTA set this year.  Santa will be able to move around in our set and interact with the kiddos a little more in a fun relaxed setting.  {Something different than just sitting upon his knee; although that is precious, we wanted something a little different this year}  All the kiddo's will have a chance to make their own Hot Cocoa with Santa complete with all the fixins' {sprinkles, marshmallows, candy canes, whip cream, etc.}

NOW is the perfect time to book your session time.  This is a LIMITED EDITION session and

 will only be available this one day.

"Santa's Cocoa Shop" is scheduled for

Boo @ the Barn | Venus Texas Photographer | Halloween Photos

It's time for our 6th Annual "Boo @ the Barn" event.  This is always such a fun night and best of all it is a FREE event.  It's just our way of reaching out to the community and saying thank you for supporting our small business.

Each year we design a new set for our "Boo @ the Barn" and well it's time for me to share this year's design with you...

This is our 2014 "Boo @ the Barn" set design!!  

Love it and all of our little trick or treater's are going to look adorable.  Can't wait to see everyone!

You may or may not be familiar with our "Boo  @ the Barn" event so here is all the info...

Date:  October 31,  2014

Time:  4 - 8pm (it is first come/first serve)

Place:  Specialty Photography Studio
165 N. Armstrong Rd.
Venus, Texas 76084

What takes place?  We photograph all the children who come dressed in their Halloween costume.  We watermark all images and share them via face book - so that you can have a copy of the image.  We have treats for the children and coupons to the studio for mom's and dad's.  It is all come and go and it is a super fun night.

This event is FREE however; we are doing a little giving back with this event.  We will be collecting new Teddy Bear's for the Venus Fire Department and if we get too many the overflow goes to Cook Children's Hospital.  The Teddy Bears actually provide comfort for children that are injured or sick and are in need of care.  It simply is a snuggle friend that a paramedic can give a child when they are scared and not sure about what all is going on.  My daughter who is now 22 years old now, had a seizure at age 6 and she ended up taking a ride to Children's in an ambulance and was quite scared, as you can imagine.  The paramedics gave her this adorable little white teddy bear with red hearts all over it during her ride.  She clung to that little bear and it brought a smile to her face and thrilled this momma at a time when we were all very scared.  Thank goodness she simply had a reaction to some medication and she never had another other issues with seizures.   So, I love being able to give back and I know that these little bears will go to loving homes and will provide a smile and comfort at an urgent moment.

How to donate?  If you want to donate a Teddy Bear simply bring one with you for each child that will be photographed.  We will the provide you with a high resolution digital image of your child's "Boo @ the Barn" photo.  {$40 value}  You will get the print rights to the image and can reprint it as many times as you want to share with friends and family and you can print any size that you want and at any lab of your choice.

It's super easy to attend,  just bring your little one dressed in their costume, bring a stuffed Teddy Bear and you will get a social media image, a digital image, treats and a coupon to the studio.  
**Galleries will be posted about 3 - 4 days following the event.

Christmas Mini Sessions | Venus Texas Photographer

I am so excited that FALL is here and the holiday's are right around the corner.  As fast as time seems to go by, it won't be long before you say to yourself.... I wish I had strated earler preparing for Christmas this year.  I know this beacuase I say that just about every year. lol!   Do you realize that Christmas is only 84 more days and ony 12 Friday's until it is here?!!  

So, now is the perfect time to go ahead and get your family scheduled for your yearly Christmas Photo session and all in time to get those adorable photo cards printed and ready to mail out.

Family Fall Day {North Texas Family Photographer}

I know, I know it is still so very HOT outside here in Texas; but it is that time of year when we start gearing up for the Fall and Christmas season here at Specialty Photography.  Our first of three Mini Sessions is coming on September 13, 2014 and we would LOVE for you to join in the fun!!

SP Back to School Contest

SP BACK TO SCHOOL CONTEST!!

I know that all you mom's take photos on the first day of school :)  I did too and always made signs for my kiddo's to hold and took that photo to document the start of another milestone in the life of my child.  I thought it would be fun to have a little contest here at SP.  It's super easy and YOU could WIN a FREE family portrait session along with a metal photo ornament (with your favorite photo from your session).   So, heres how to enter...

Our family at the beach {North Texas Family Photographer}

Well you guys know that we closed the studio a couple of weeks ago for a few days as we headed off to the beach with our family.  We sure enjoyed the R&R time and of course it's always amazing to spend time with family.  I love that we got to enjoy our whole big family together for several days, truly blesses my heart.

Our vacation destination was Port Aransas, Texas and for those of you don't know, that is right across the bay from Ingleside, Texas where my hubby grew up.  It's always fun to go for visit.

This year we enjoyed the beach, eating awesome food, swimming at the hotel, exploring the World Aquarium and the USS Lexington.   We also had a wonderful evening with my Brother & Sister in Law, who still  leave there.  So thankful for the time we shared and memories that were made.  Such a blessing.

Today I thought I would share with you guys a few of my favorite photos from our family photo shoot on the beach.

Meet the Cato Family {North Texas Family Photographer}

We recently had a session with the Cato Family and I am super excited to get to share the highlights of our time together with you guys today.  What a fun bunch this family is.  We had a blast getting to meet all of their amazing kiddos and to enjoy their interaction with each other.  Family is such a special bond and a blessing and it is always so much fun for me to capture.

well... this is the rest of their amazing family.

I have enjoyed getting to know the Cato family over the years and am so honored that they choose me as their photographer over and over again.  Love that and I am delighted to be able to provide them with images that they can cherish for a lifetime.
