Imaging USA is the longest running national photographic convention, expo and image exhibition in the United States, drawing thousands of professionals from around the world. Dating back to 1880, when it began as the annual convention and trade show for Professional Photographers of America, the event is always growing and evolving.
Major components of Imaging USA are the three-day Imaging EXPO trade show, several all-inclusive parties and presentations by some of the biggest names in the photographic industry. Imaging USA's renowned educational classes are geared to improve a photographer's business skills, photographic repertoire and use of technologies.
This year we are also going a little early as we are both taking some pre-convention classes and these are little more hands on and I simply can't wait. My full day workshop is going to be with a well known Maternity & Newborn Photographer Ana Marie Brandt and I can not wait to meet her and to learn more about the artistry of photographing these adorable little babies. I love that I get to do this for my job. Such a passion. My hubby will be taking a class on Lightroom as he is in the process of learning to process RAW files, so this class will be a great help to him.
On opening day February 1st I will be starting off Imaging USA by taking my CPP test. CPP stands for Certified Professional Photographer. This is a two step process to obtain certification through the PPA {Professional Photographer of America} Step 1... Declare your candidacy - done. Step 2...take and pass the written test Step 3... will be to submit images to a panel of judges for them to see my ability in producing proper techinical images. I have been studying a lot and preparing for this for a while, so I am excited to finally be able to take the exam. So wish me luck my friends!
Be sure and follow me on instagram @deannab to see our adventures and highlights from our trip and possibly new products that I find in the trade show. Yes! Imaging has the most amazing trade show for us photogs. It's truly one of my favorite things. Awesome new products are revealed each year, you get hands on experiences and lot's of additional training on techniques. Plus.. you always get some free stuff too. Way cool :) Oh! and you can shop till you drop if you want.
So we will be away from the studio January 28 - February 4, 2015. However, I will be checking emails and phone calls each day, so please reach out at any time if you have any questions and/or need to schedule for an upcoming event or session.
Be sure and check the blog while we are gone too.. we have a ton of neat things going on here at the studio and we will be sharing them all right here on the blog.
Chat with you soon!!!
Love & Laughter -
Deanna
